The clearest map for Tyne & Wear
Inspired by the famous London Tube Map, we’ve designed a map that’s clear and easy to read. And to keep up with a subway system that’s always changing, we’ve developed technology that allows us to push the latest map to the app without the need for an app update, so you can always be confident that it is up to date. Spend less time feeling lost and more time relaxing, exploring and seeing the sights of North East England.
Step-By-Step Guides
Every journey comes with a complete summary showing you how many changes there are and how long it will take you, so you’ll never be late again. You’ll never feel lost either thanks to Mapway’s guides that take you step-by-step through your route on the metro map, highlighting changes.

Train Times
No one likes getting to their stop and having to wait ages for the next metro train. Or even worse, arriving just as a train is pulling away. Each station in the Mapway app has detailed train times arranged by line and platform so that you know exactly when your train is due.
– Travel Tip –
Trains run about every 10 – 12 minutes, so if you miss your train, you shouldn’t have too long to wait for the next one.

Only 15 miles (around half an hour on the metro) separates Newcastle United’s St James’ Park from Sunderland’s Stadium of Light. The teams have been rivals since their formation in the late 1800s.
