Back to blog Transport for London (TfL) will be undertaking track works on the Northern line which will affect travel between the 1st and 5th of August (Monday to Friday). Unfortunately this isn’t as simple as a single closed station and travelling on the Northern line could become quite complicated. To help we’re here with some helpful information and tips on how to get around.

The main changes to be aware of are:

  • Northbound trains on the Bank branch will only go towards Edgware.
  • Northbound trains on the Charing Cross branch will only go towards High Barnet/ Mill Hill East.
  • Between 16:00 and 19:00 Camden Town station will be exit only.
  • There is the possibility that trains may not stop at Camden Town AT ALL to avoid overcrowding.
  • Southbound trains will operate as normal.

Travel Tips

  • Plan ahead for northbound journeys and keep an eye on the line status in Tube Map for delays.
  • Check you’re on the right branch of the Northern line if you’re travelling beyond Euston.
  • Avoid changing at Camden Town during evening rush hour (17:30-18:30). If it gets too busy trains might not stop there.
  • Avoid changing at Euston if it is possible to change elsewhere because it is expected to be busier than normal.
