Back to blog Starting from Monday, London bus users with a single ticket will now be able to change onto another bus or tram for free, within an hour of starting their journey. The new Hopper bus fare will be an automatic change for anyone using Oyster or contactless cards, there is no setting up needed. The price of a single bus ticket in London won’t change from £1.50 and the new fare will mean being able to travel further without the need to buy additional tickets. For now the Hopper fare includes a free change between one other bus or tram. By 2018 this will be extended to unlimited bus and tram travel within an hour as well as including Tube and trains. For Bus Times London users you’re going to find it even easier to plan routes around London for less. Using the app’s journey planner and live bus times you can plan your route from A to B and see clearly how many changes you’ll need to make and if you can catch your second bus within the hour. Use Bus Times London the next time you’re planning a route and see if it includes the new and cheaper Hopper fare. Back to blog
