Terms and conditions These terms and conditions have been posted on Thursday 1st December 2016. Update on 16th December 2016: Please note – The New York Subway app will be updated on Saturday 31st December 2016 with a new MTA map which is needed for the 2nd Avenue subway. If users update this will remove the Christmas Map from the app. The promoter of this competition is Mapway Ltd, registered in England under company number 05117731 and with its registered office at Atlantic House, Atlas Business Park, Simonsway, Manchester, M22 5PR, United Kingdom. Mapway Ltd is a subsidiary of mxData Holdings Ltd. Tube Map/New York Subway’s Christmas Competition is free to enter and no purchase is necessary. To enter users must have downloaded Mapway’s Tube Map or New York Subway app. Both apps are free to download on iOS and Android devices.- An entry is only valid when a user has successfully answered all three questions on the Christmas map and tapped the three stations relating to the answers.
- Users will know they have correctly guessed when a pop up window in the app appears, telling them they have found all three stations.
- To enter into the prize draw users must send their details to the valid email address they will be given, once they are successful at finding the three stations.
- Entries must be made by email to the email address provided. No other method of entry is valid.
- Apple users will need to use the preinstalled iOS Mail app to submit their entry. No other email provider is supported.
- All valid entries received by Mapway within the deadline stated below will be entered into the prize draw.
- The competition will run from 07:00 GMT on Thursday 1st December until 23:59 GMT on Saturday 31st December 2016.
- The prize draw for UK entries using Tube Map is £1,000. One winner will be selected at random and the prize is non-transferable.
- The prize draw for US entries using New York Subway is $1,000. One winner will be selected at random and the prize is non-transferable.
- Entry is open to residents of the UK and US, aged 18 years or over.
- The competition is not open to employees of Mapway Ltd or the wider mxData group and all other persons engaged with this prize draw, their immediate families, and relatives living in an employee’s household. No third party entries or bulk entries will be accepted.
- Mapway reserve the right to verify the eligibility of entrants and that the entry is not fraudulent. Mapway may require such information as it considers reasonably necessary for the purpose of verifying the eligibility of an entry and the prize may be withdrawn until and unless Mapway is satisfied with the verification.
- The two cash prize winners will be announced on our blog, once the competition has closed and winners have been contacted, between Tuesday 3rd January 2017 – Wednesday 18th January 2017.
- Users can only enter once.
- Anyone found spamming the competition email address or abusing it with offensive language will be disqualified.
- The winners will be notified in writing via an email from competitionwinner@mapway.com. If the winner has not replied within five working days the winner will then be called from Mapway’s Head Office landline: (+44) 01625 526644. If no contact has been made after three attempts to call the winners, Mapway has the right to contact a secondary winner. The secondary winner will again be chosen at random.
- Calls from a UK landline to a US mobile number may result in international changes for the competition winner. Mapway cannot be held liable for these charges and the user must check with their provider for details on how much the call will cost.
- Users must take note of the email address and phone number, which will be used to contact them if they are the winner. Any other email or phone number used, must be treated as a potential scam posing as Mapway and not be trusted as part of this competition.
- Winners will get their prize within 30 days of Mapway receiving their home address to send out a UK cheque, PayPal details or bank details – the method of payment can be chosen by the winner.
- Entry into the draw is dependent on the entry being received by Mapway. Mapway does not accept liability for entries that are not submitted or received on time, for whatever reason. This is including, but not limited to; Internet disruption, server issues or the unlikely unavailability of one of our apps.
- In the event of fraud, abuse, and/or an error affecting the proper operation of this competition, Mapway reserves the right to end or suspend the prize draw; amend these terms and conditions; declare void the notification of winners; and/or to allocate available prizes by conducting a prize draw from all eligible entrants.
- Entrants’ data will be collected, stored and processed for the purpose of administering and assessing this prize draw.
- Entrants’ data will not be sold on to third parties.
- All entrants email addresses will be stored and may be used by Mapway and the wider mxData group for marketing purposes. If you wish to opt out of receiving marketing communications please email support@mapway.com indicating your preferences.
- In relation to Apple’s App Store Review Guidelines (specifically clause 5.3.2) Apple is not a sponsor or involved in the competition activity in any manner.
- In relation to Google’s Developer Program Policies, Google is not a sponsor or involved in the competition activity in any manner.
- Transport for London (TfL) and Metropolitan Transport Authority (MTA) are not sponsors and do not endorse, or are involved in, this competition in any manner.
- By taking part in the competition, all entrants will be deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions.
- This prize draw is governed by English Law and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
